Normandy Battle 1944 WW2.....

I've seen this exhasuted face in a book I've had for about 10 years and always wanted to draw it... and now I have.

He is German, and although I don't support what happened, innocent lives were involved and this one, I am sure is.

Hope you like :)

MIXED MEDIA: Black paper, charcoal, and white oil paint for the highlights... at first it was only to be black charcoal and white, but me being so silly did it on black paper so I had to use oils for the highlights... ah well.

Panzer-Grenadier by ~melzart is a haunting traditional painting which I think captures the essence(if you can call it that) of World War II with a simple facial expression. Emotion which a great work of art can evoke in a person, when you get caught up in the moment...completely lost in it. (Suggested by ~rdx86 and Featured by `leodadominico)

That is sweet. I'm really into the old WWII stuff, and being German (though not Nazi, by all means), this is really touching. You get a :+fav: and a :cookie:.
